Subject: Connect Resolver
Hi TK,

I have an 4th axis on my milling machine, it has an 6 wire resolver feedback. I think like this one:

How do I have to connect it to my Kanalog?

Maybe like this:?
R1 GND
R2 DAC0 (And write a program that makes an 9V sine wave?)

S1 GND
S3 ADC0 (And configure it at my axis as resolver 0)

S2 GND
S4 ADC1 (And configure it at my axis as resolver 1)

Ps.

The exciter coil resistance should be approximately 20 ohms.
The feedback coils should be approximately 70 ohms.

Exciter spoel +/- 20 Ohm
4. X en Y feedback spoelen +/- 70 Ohm

Hi Frank,

It is a bit complicated and the result may not be as linear as an encoder so you should decide it you really wish to do this.

Kanalog can not really output points fast enough to generate a sine wave at a high frequency, but I think a square wave should work ok.  Especially if it is smoothed some.

The DACS can not drive a 20 ohm load directly.  The Kanalog FET Drivers may work.  Here is a description of how it was done with our older KMotion board:
